Prof. Mofeed Turky Rashid is the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, where he also serves as a Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Basrah and furthered his research at the University of Catania, Italy. His primary research interests include robotic systems, wireless sensor networks, autonomous control systems, machine learning, and energy management. Prof. Rashid is an active member of the academic community, serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Iraqi Journal for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IJEEE) and as a reviewer for numerous prestigious journals from publishers including IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer.
